The board of Rijnstate Hospital invited me to develop a special gift for their professors. My aim was to find a connecting factor between the different research areas. I had to go back in time. Along leeches and superstitions to plants.
In current science parts of plants are still used for medicinal applications. I selected ten plants which are widely known for their medical properties and on their stylistic and ornamental features.

Het bestuur van Rijnstate Hospitaal nodigde mij uit een bijzonder cadeau te ontwikkelen voor de hoogleraren verbonden aan het ziekenhuis. Mijn doel was om een verbindende factor te vinden tussen de verschillende onderzoeksgebieden. Daarvoor moest ik terug in de tijd. Langs bloedzuigers en bijgeloof naar planten gebruikt als medicatie.
In de huidige wetenschap worden onderdelen van planten nog steeds gebruikt voor medicinale toepassingen. Ik selecteerde tien planten die bekend staan om hun medische eigenschappen en op stilistische en ornamentele eigenschappen.

Their achievements deserve a special gift. Visual artist Anuli Croon has made ten unique works of art: images of medicinal plants. The plants symbolize a source of knowledge. They are made with a stencil technique, acrylic paint on stone paper.
Each of the professors receives a work of art as a gift. A portrait of the professor then takes the place of the selected work of art. So that it is visible who are the professors of Rijnstate.

Rijnstate wil vooroplopen. Daarom werken we er voortdurend hard aan om onze zorg te verbeteren. We willen vernieuwingen realiseren die ertoe doen. En wetenschappelijk onderzoek uitvoeren waar onze patiënten van profi teren. Daarom zijn we trots op onze hoogleraren, die met hun onderzoek de zorg voor onze patiënten prettiger, soepeler en eff ectiever maken.
Hun prestaties verdienen een bijzonder geschenk. Beeldend kunstenaar Anuli Croon heeft tien unieke kunstwerken gemaakt: afbeeldingen van geneeskundige planten. De planten staan symbool voor een bron van kennis. Ze zijn vervaardigd met een sjabloontechniek van acrylverf op papier.
Elk van de hoogleraren krijgt een kunstwerk cadeau. Een portret van de hoogleraar neemt
vervolgens de plek van het uitgekozen kunstwerk in. Zodat zichtbaar is wie de hoogleraren zijn van Rijnstate.
